QCD‐like gauge dynamics from gravity duals

Abstract: We describe attempts to study QCD‐like gauge dynamics using a deformed version of the AdS/CFT Correspondence. The Yang Mills* geometry is dual to a gauge theory that is non‐supersymmetric Yang Mills in the infra‐red but reverts to N = 4 super Yang Mills in the ultra‐violet. The geometry describes a discrete, calculable glueball spectrum with a mass gap. Wilson loops in the geometry display QCD string breaking.
