Pyrrolidine-functionalized fluorine-containing graphene sheets

Abstract: A method to prepare high-quality pyrrolidine-functionalized fluorine-containing single-or few-layer graphene sheets was presented. Natural graphite powder was firstly treated with sarcosine and pentafluorobenzaldehyde in ortho-dichlorobenzene (ODCB) via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition to afford surfacemodified graphite. This surface-functionalized graphite was successively dispersed and exfoliated in various solvents by bath sonication and a stable homogeneous dispersion of pyrrolidine-functionalized graphene sheets… Show more

“…For the LPE method, 2D bands become more symmetric, indicating the presence of few‐layer graphene with the force of microfluidisation [27] and ultrasonic processing [28]. The position of 2D bands shifts to lower side indicating few‐layer graphene [29–32]. In Fig.…”

“…[ 162 ] It has also been accomplished to make superior pyrrolidine‐functionalized graphene sheets which is single‐ or few‐layer with fluorine contained. [ 42 ] Graphite is treated with sarcosine and pentafluorobenzaldehyde via 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition to obtain certain graphite with the surface modified.…”

“…During the last decade, several groups have pioneered cycloaddition chemistry for the chemical modification of a wide array of carbon-based nanomaterials, including fullerene, carbon nanotubes, graphene, and carbon quantum dots, either in their pristine or functionalized forms [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]. The different cycloaddition strategies are an important tool to increase the processability, solubility, and colloid stability of nanostructures, to achieve better control over composition, and to target specific applications [ 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 ].…”
