Abstract:The pyrolysis of polyethylene and polypropylene in vacuum residue and coal tar pitch solvents was studied in a batch reactor at atmospheric pressure in a temperature range of 380-420°C. Aliphatic hydro carbons and C 5 -C 32 normal olefins and isoolefins were the main pyrolysis products of the polyolefins and vacuum residue, which also underwent thermal degradation at these temperatures. The total conversion of a polypropylene-vacuum residue mixture into gaseous and distillate products was nearly additive; upon… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
