Abstract: O brizantão, braquiarão ou capim-marandu (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu) é uma gramínea de rápido estabelecimento, boa produtividade, resistência às cigarrinhas típicas de pastagem e alta produção de sementes, além de apresentar boa adaptação a diferentes condições edafoclimáticas.
