Abstract

Pyrazinamide First report of keratosis lichenoides chronica: case reportA 58-year-old man developed keratosis lichenoides chronica (KLC) while receiving treatment with antituberculosis drugs including pyrazinamide [dosage and route not stated].The man, with a history of pulmonary tuberculosis, initiated treatment with pyrazinamide, isoniazid, rifampicin and ethambutol. On day 10, he developed a rash starting from the torso disseminating throughout the body. He was admitted with the complaint of a generalized rash with erythema-tous, scaly plaques. Violaceous erythematous, scaly and infiltrated plaques were found all over his body on dermatological examination. Lesions were predominantly located on the torso, and upper and lower extremities, which had a tendency for coalescence. A biopsy of lesions showed focal parakeratosis, focal exocytosis, irregular acanthosis, basal vacuolar degeneration, colloid bodies, necrotic cells, and lichenoid infiltration. He was subsequently diagnosed with KLC.
