Treatment of infectious processes involves systemic antimicrobials, which have no effect on PG, as well as debridement and excision of affected tissues, which can exacerbate the wound with worsening inflammation and ulceration through a phenomenon known as pathergy (11)(12)(13). Conventional treatment of PG involves gentle local wound care and systemic immunosuppression, which could prove disastrous in the setting of a necrotizing infection.…”
