“…As a kind of scattered material, thallium (Tl) is more and more wildly used in production and science experiments because superconductivity, infrared character etc, metallurgical methods are mainly hydro-metallurgy and pyro-metallurgy [1] [2] .Tl is some restricted in production and apply because its a toxicity material, but the prise is not low,a kilo of 99.99% purity Tl can be saled nearly 3000 dollars. With the development of science and technology, the demand for environmental protection is higher than before, vacuum metallurgy that has little pollution is a preference method [1][4] [5] .For the thallium-bearing materials which are also contants Pb,Cu,Ni,Si and Fe,three-step vacuum distillation method could be used to get Tl.The first step vacuum distillation is used to evaporate Cd with little Tl,Tl is beneficiated in the residue. The first step evaporation could be used for extracting Cd, the first step residual is used for extracting Tl.The second step vacuum distillation is used to evaporate Tl and Pb with the first residue, eliminates Fe,Cu,Ni and Si etc, make them remain in the secondary residues in which Tl is less as far as possible.Secondary residues is used for extracting Cu,Ni etc, secondary evaporation is used to purify Tl.The third step vacuum distillation with the secondary evaporation gets the residue and evaporation of the third step, the third residue can be used for extracting lead and the third evaporant is thallium production. This article researches the process of eliminating Cd from thallium-bearing materials,to provide theoretical data and reference for producing thallium.…”

“…The methods for preparing high purity indium include ion exchange, zone melting, low halide, vacuum distillation and electrolytic refining, etc. [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] It is difficult to prepare high purity indium only by electrolysis unless several combinations of purification methods are applied. Electrorefining is a usual purification method, which can be easily scaled up.…”
