“…Creatine kinase and LDH showed high concentrations in the skeletal muscle, which was also apparent in Black Sea Bass, Rainbow Trout, and Red Lionfish (Gaudet et al 1975; Anderson et al 2010; Clarke et al 2012). Various isoforms of CK have been identified in a wide variety of tissues in bony fishes, including Zebrafish Danio rerio , Atlantic Herring Clupea harengus , sturgeons, Blackfin Icefish Chaenocephalus aceratus , tilapia, Common Carp Cyprinus carpio , and Channel Catfish Ictalurus punctatus , although quantification of enzymatic activity was not performed in those studies (Sun et al 1998; Harder and McGowan 2001; Liu et al 2001; Lin et al 2003; Winnard et al 2003; Kuzmin 2008; Niedzwiecka et al 2015). Creatine kinase expression in the gonads of Golden Trevally was highly variable and did not appear to be sex specific, which was not evaluated in either Black Sea Bass or Red Lionfish.…”
