Purification and Characterization of the Membrane-Bound Quinoprotein Glucose Dehydrogenase of Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus PAL 5

Abstract: Acetic acid bacteria oxidize a great number of substrates, such as alcohols and sugars, using different enzymes that are anchored to the membrane. In particular, Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus is distinguished for its N2-fixing activity under high-aeration conditions. Ga. diazotrophicus is a true endophyte that also has membrane-bound enzymes to oxidize sugars and alcohols. Here we reported the purification and characterization of the membrane-bound glucose dehydrogenase (GDHm), an oxidoreductase of Ga. diaz… Show more

“…The treatment related to anti-fibrosis remained an unconquered era for drug progression, development.PQQ via scavenging activity can open new horizons in this field [145]. A significant protection in liver and colon cells was found with administration of PQQ [146] and to extricate untimely senescence, provoked by eradication of Bmi-1 and inhibition of oxidative stress by ROS can cause liver impairment [147]. Multiple lines of evidence indicate that NOX-generated ROS engaged in crucial function of liver pathogenesis [148].…”
