“…Laparoscopic hepatectomy was introduced in 2000, and approximately 300 procedures have been performed, including 80 live donor hepatectomies by our team [17][18][19][20]25]. Laparoscopic procedures, including detailed techniques and concepts, have been sequentially refined and standardized [20,25], with LMH introduced in 2003.…”

“…Laparoscopic procedures, including detailed techniques and concepts, have been sequentially refined and standardized [20,25], with LMH introduced in 2003. Our previous report describing the novel conceptual technique of LMH [25] showed that laparoscopic surgery is performed using essentially the same steps and principles used in the open procedure.…”

“…LLR achieved similar short-and long-term oncologic outcomes for HCC or colorectal liver metastases (CLM) [59,62,69]. Finally, some authors advocated the systematic use of LLR for left lateral resection in benign liver lesions and in living donors for pediatric liver living donor transplantation [70,71].…”

“…Laparoscopic LLS for LDLT provides better conditions for pure laparoscopic surgery than does right hepatectomy, including better access, fewer anatomical variations, and easier mobilization. LLS for pediatric LDLT was first described in 2002 [3], and its safety and reproducibility have already been demonstrated [22], with a shift from innovation to development [23]. Moreover, laparoscopic LLS for pediatric LDLT has shown similar short-term outcomes as laparoscopic donor nephrectomy, suggesting that the laparoscopic approach should be considered the new standard practice [24].…”
