The article discusses researches performed in the Well Drilling Department of the St. Petersburg Mining University. The directions of development of the department are shown. Special attention in this article is paid to research in the field of developing drilling fluids for drilling wells in various mining and geological conditions. It is shown that the gas-liquid mixtures studied by the department will be effective for under balanced drilling under conditions of abnormally low reservoir pressures when using a binary mixture of sodium lauryl sulfate 0.5% + linear sodium alkyl benzene sulfate 0.5% as a surfactant and polyacrylamide FP complex 107 (0.05%) as a forming and stabilizing additive + carboxymethyl starch BUR-2 (1%). Studies in the field of development of inhibitory fluids have shown that an increase in the concentration of polar compounds in the drilling fluid compared to their concentration in the rock Cp> Cn by 0.25 mol/L makes it possible to increase the stability of the rocks around the wellbore compared to the initial conditions. Studies of lubricating additives showed that introducing 1.5-2.0% of FRW additive reduces the friction coefficient of the metal-metal pair in a clay solution by 70-75% and in an aqueous solution up to 65%. The findings suggest that drilling fluids developed at the Well Drilling Department of the St. Petersburg Mining University have a high potential for their application in oil and gas fields in order to improve the efficiency of drilling and completion of wells. It is also noted that the scientific and technical potential of the department allows for input control of reagents in drilling fluids, as well as the development and research of various compositions not only for drilling and completion of wells, but also for development and repair, which are applicable in real field conditions.

AbstractBackground: The success of planning geological and technical measures aimed at intensifying oil production is of high importance.Methodology: To increase the efficiency of operations aimed at oil recovery enhancement, it is necessary to use mathematical models of the rock mass deformation, taking into account the physical and mechanical properties of the rocks.Results: Currently, the application of these models is difficult due to a lack of data. As a result, the use of simpler models is resorted to, which is not always correct in the practical application of these models. This article describes experimental studies aimed at determining the mechanical properties of rock and establishing the correlation between properties and the fluid saturation of the rocks. The study determined the physical-mechanical properties of the rocks (taking into account the stage of field development) and established the dependencies of the change in the oil reservoir rock properties on the saturation and type of load on a sample.Conclusions: The results show that the saturation of the rock with a liquid phase (hydrocarbon or water) decreases the strength of the reservoir rock, which in turn depends on the type of saturating fluid.

Measuring System of Vibration Diagnostic with the Metrological Self-Control Function

In the article, there is given the description of the method of metrological self-control in the measuring system of vibration diagnostic, the structural system of scheme is shown and the peculiarities of its functioning is self-control mode are given. The diagnostic methods, discussed in the article, usually are not completely independent and show the bigger effectiveness in the combined usage. The following problem exists: in the early stages of the appearing of a defect the informative components of vibration signals have extremely small amount of the energy and are covered with the background noise. Therefore, the effective method of the signal processing should assume the extraction of the informative signs of a damage when the signal/noise ratio is less than 1. Currently the biggest interest is presented by the group of the time frequency methods because they allow localizing in time the peculiarities of a vibration signal, therefore, they are potentially more sensitive to occurring defects than the time and spectral methods. Among their disadvantages are the mathematical complexity and the complexity of the realization and the interpretation of the results. The main advantage of developing system is the presence of the high frequency vibration measurement channel and also the built-in functional self-diagnosis system which principle is experimentally confirmed.
