Abstract:A detailed study of pulse shaping properties in crossed-beam volume gratings is performed. Analytical expressions for the profiles of the transmitted and diffracted beams are obtained based on the modified coupled wave theory. The spatial and spectrum evolutions and the diffraction efficiency of the diffracted pulsed beams are discussed. It is shown that the profiles of diffraction pulses and the total diffraction efficiency are greatly affected by the grating size, recording angle, and refractive-index modula… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
