Pulse compression for a simple pulse

Abstract: A new pulse compression method for a simple pulse is proposed. The proposed method has a filter with impulse response h(t) whose Fourier transform H(f) is given by D(f)=S(f), where D(f) is the Fourier transform of desired output waveform d(t) and S(f) is the Fourier transform of input signal s(t). Frequency characteristics D(f) are considered not to make H(f) divergent, since frequency characteristics S(f) have zero points at the multiplication number of the reciprocal number of the input pulsewidth. The propo… Show more

“…(3) Different modulation types for pulse compression have been widely used in radar; these may include the most famous phase-coded and LFM [4], a new manner of pulse compression for simple pulse where the desired signal waveform has a frequency characteristics selected to get low peak sidelobe levels [5], and a proposed phase coded pulse compression mechanism to explain the weather targets return is presented in [6] with performance comparison of various filters and inverse filters used to suppress the unwanted sidelobe.…”

“…Shinriki, et al, [8] have proposed a new pulse compression method for simple pulse. This method has a filter whose impulse response in frequency domain is the ratio between the desired waveform and input signal in frequency domain.…”

“…Many kinds of modulation in radar that used for pulse compression such as the phase-coded and LFM pulse, which is the most widely, used [4]. Many papers introduced the pulse compression advantages in radar systems such as Susaki, in [5], which a new manner of pulse compression is illustrated for simple pulse. The desired signal waveform has frequency characteristics, which selected to get low peak side lobe level. In [6], a proposed phase coded pulse compression mechanism is presented to explain the weather targets return.…”
