Pulmonary vein isolation after partial pulmonary vein repair in patient with heterotaxy, anomalous right pulmonary veins and atrial fibrillation with associated cardiomyopathy

Abstract: Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) is an unusual congenital anomaly with variable sites of attachment of the atypical pulmonary veins. Anomalous right pulmonary vein return can be surgically corrected if left to right shunt physiology becomes hemodynamically significant. In such patients, as in the general population, the development of arrhythmia-associated heart failure due to atrial fibrillation prompts consideration of pulmonary vein isolation.
