“…With the introduction of CT scan, especially high-resolution CT, awareness of pleural manifestations of sarcoidosis has increased, allowing detection of more subtle cases of pleural involvement, a rare (with 2-4% frequency) but significant involvement (18). The rates were similar in the present study, however, pleural calsification reported among the CT findings was conspicuous.…”

“…Radiologic data showed that 14 patients had stage IV sarcoidosis, 24 patients had stage III sarcoidosis, 28 patients had stage II sarcoidosis, 17 patients had stage I sarcoidosis, and 9 patients had stage 0 sarcoidosis. 10 Prevalence of Pneumothorax LAM: Pneumothorax was diagnosed in 16 patients, 5 by chest roentgenograms and 11 by CT scans only. Of the 16 patients in whom pneumothorax was diagnosed, 14 had traveled by airplane and 2 by ground transportation.…”

“…Sarcoidosis is diagnosed by clinical findings and corroborating histological evidence of non-caseating epithelioid cell granulomas [2]. Over 90% of patients have lung involvement [3], while skin lesions are observed in ,25% of patients [4]. Although spontaneous remissions occur in almost two-thirds of patients, chronic or progressive disease is seen in 10-30% [5], with permanent pulmonary or extrapulmonary sequelae in at least 10-20% of patients.…”
