Pulmonary mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma: 18F-FDG PET/CT and CT findings in 28 patients

Abstract: Pulmonary MALT lymphoma is F-FDG avid in most cases andF-FDG avidity is correlated with tumour size. Consolidation is the most frequent morphological pattern of disease presentation. Advances in knowledge: This study demonstrated that lung MALT lymphoma are F-FDG avid in most cases depending on tumour size. Single or multiple areas of consolidation are the most common pattern of presentation of lung MALT lymphoma at CT.

“…However, 2 different patterns must be distinguished: interstitial lung disease, which was not associated with lymphoma, and focal or nodular lesions that were highly suggestive of lymphoma. These results are consistent with those observed in pulmonary MALT-type lymphomas, independently of primary SS, where pulmonary nodules and focal condensation are the most frequently observed patterns on PET-CT images (17).…”

Thus, we cannot conclude if there was an effect.…”

“…Primary lung malignancies presenting as subsolid nodules usually represent in situ, minimally invasive or invasive adenocarcinoma with predominant lepidic growth [12]. Rarely, primitive pulmonary lymphomas may also exhibit a subsolid nodular pattern [13].…”
