“…The structural equation model also indicated that spontaneous arousals and oxygen saturation were weakly although significantly associated with this metabolic variable. Dubern et al 34 found a significant univariate correlation between the arousal index and the HOMA index in 54 severely obese children, although the significance was lost after controlling for age, gender, ethnicity and the Tanner stage.
