Mycotic infections continue to play an increasingly important role in the practice of medicine and particula rly in pulmonary disease.The histo ry of Aspergillus infection of the lung has been tr aced from the first recognised case to modern conc epts regarding the va rying ways in which the fungu s can manifest itself.The evidence for the possible aetiologies of the tumour-like form of pulmonary aspergillosis-the aspergilloma -has been presented .
