“…Apart from the 7.1 ns isomer discussed above, three other 48 K transitions of 143-, 279-and 449-keV were sufficiently strong to measure lifetimes. For this purpose, the data from yet another experiment carried out with the plunger technique [23,24] at the PRISMA-CLARA spectrometer were used. In this experiment, the 310-MeV 48 Ca beam was used on a 1.0 mg/cm 2 enriched 208 Pb target evaporated onto a 1.0 mg/cm 2 Ta support.…”

“…This may lead to events with a transition of 107 keV energy being properly correlated with 45 Cr ions but with times related to γ radiation from subsequently implanted ions being processed in the same electronics module. The lower limit of T 1/2 > 80 µs for the isomer in 45 Cr is thus derived from ion-γ correlations occuring within the first 80 µs after implantation or trigger signal, respectively. 45 Sc is the stable mirror nucleus of 45 Cr.…”

A long-lived, T 1/2 = 318(7) ms, isomeric 3/2 + state is established as low as at E x = 12.4 keV excitation energy above the 7/2 − ground state.…”
