Development trends (Research Trends) in scientific research on the methods of Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) in agriculture are analyzed. Established bibliometric techniques are applied. MCDA/MCDM methods are being very intensively developed in recent years, as evidenced by the number of scientific papers published annually in renowned scientific journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database. In the years 1979-2015 a total of 1,355 scientific articles were collected in the database. The number of articles published annually increased rapidly after 2005. Besides, the annual number of citations of the publications is increasing. Research on MCDA/MCDM is conducted in many research areas. In the years 1984-2015 the Web of Science database accumulated 27 scientific publications on MCDA/MCDM in agriculture area. Therefore, it can be concluded that the MCDA/MCDM issues are currently not sufficiently analyzed in relation to agriculture. In the future this subject will probably be further developed, an increasing number of scientists will conduct research on the MCDA/MCDM and the annual number of articles published in the field will increase.

This paper concerns about the development and use of an asymmetric index (α) for the computation of the co-publications between two countries in a scientometric perspective. Korea and India are selected as assessing cases for illustrating the application of the 'α' index on co-publication analysis against several parameters such as growth in a number of the scholarly communications, document types, subject areas, and sources for the period 1994 to 2013. A total of 8823 co-publications were published by Indo-Korean researchers during the aforementioned period of time. The asymmetric index of Indo-Korean co-publications of India with Korea (α India-Korea ) and vice versa (α Korea-India ) were obtained and the values were 0.099 and 0.114, respectively. The results suggest that the overall efforts of Korean researchers have more effective co-operation with Indian researchers. In addition, a comparison with the best-known Salton's (cosine) measures is provided and the results show that its value (0.11) is independent of the relative size of the collaborative systems.

Evaluation of the quality of scientific performance of the selected countries of Southeast Europe

Scientific productivity data (number of publications and h-indices), collected from the Web of Science (WoS) database for the period 2005-2010 for 13 countries of Southeast Europe (including Austria as the reference country) and for the 251 WoS categories were grouped, during extraction of data, into 41 fields of science (FoS) according to Frascati manual classification (OECD in Revised field of science and technology (FoS) classification in the Frascati manual, pp. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] 2007). The Scientific Performance QuaLity (SPQL) level has been defined and calculated for the 13 studied countries and for all FoS based on the established best fit of the linear dependence between P 1/a and h-index. From these data the SPQL levels of the six major fields and overall country levels have been generated in a way which makes them dependent not on the quantity of scientific publications output, but on its quality thus making them suitable for constructing conceivable science policies. Nevertheless, general observed trend shows growth of the quality of scientific performance (SPQL) with scientific production output, but there are evident exceptions from such a tendency in both positive and negative directions. The highest quality levels of the reached scientific performance have been identified for the 41 FoSs (subfields) and 6 major FoS by the countries concerned.
