“…Some use the term 'Historic Urban Landscape' to speak of visual or scenic aspects and only consider the city's composition or image (Cassatella and JCHMSD 10,3 Carlone, 2013;Jaglarz, 2020), which means that the appearance of this term seems to be somewhat coincidental. This is true in the case of Vinnytsia in Ukraine which aims to understand local identity from transformations undertaken in its urban space (Melnychuk and Gnatiuk, 2019) and only mentions the term in the abstract. In this sense, the majority of the case studies cover historic areas which are facing problems of urban growth or abandonment and areas which need to be studied in order to highlight heritage values (Denison et al, 2017;Ferdous, 2016;Franco Ossa, 2015;Gigliarelli et al, 2015;Karim, 2016;Khirfan, 2013;K€ osebay Erkan, 2013;Martone, 2015;Rooney, 2014;Sepe, 2015;Sinding-Larsen, 2012).…”

“…One of them is the case of the Roshen embankment in Vinnytsia. In 2011, a part of the Southern Bug river embankment was reconstructed with installation of Roshen Multimedia Fountain in the river bed, which quickly became one of the key city's symbols and tourist attractions (Melnychuk and Gnatiuk 2019). The project was funded by Petro Poroshenko Charitable Foundation and cost approximately EUR 70 million.…”

“…Вінниця як окреме поселення вже потрапляла в поле зору вчених. Активними дослідниками декомунізації міської топонімії є київські географи О. Гнатюк та А. Мельничук (Gnatiuk, 2022;Gnatiuk O., Melnychuk A., 2020;Melnychuk A., Gnatiuk O., 2019), які підґрунтя її успішності вбачають в зусиллях професійного середовища істориків та діяльності специфічної міської політичної еліти. Т. Кароєва як учасниця робочої групи з декомунізації описала організацію та засади її роботи (Кароєва, 2017).…”
