Filicinae is a fern with the most species members. The Filicinae includes approximately 170 genera and 7000 species. Filicinae grows in wet, humid, and shady environmental conditions, like waterfall areas with an altitude of 1100-1300 meters above sea level (m a s l). The study aimed to determine the taxonomic diversity of the Filicinae in the Tretes Wonosalam Waterfall Tourism area. Taxonomic diversity is very important in tourism areas because it prevents species extinction due to the destruction of the habitat, they live in. This was descriptive research with exploration and observation techniques used purposive sampling methods based on altitude. The results of the study were stated in the form of an inventory list of species and families of each station. Data gained of species diversity were analyzed using taxonomic diversity with the formula (∆) and dominance diversity with the formula (∆*). Exploration results found 37 species from 12 families composed of 10 species from 7 families at station 1; 12 species from 6 families at station 2; 14 species from 7 families at station 3; and 22 species from 12 families at station 4. The highest taxonomic diversity (∆) was station 4 with 106.8 while the lowest for station 1 was 25.63. Dominance diversity (∆*) at all stations in this study was in the medium category. The highest family found in the study was Tectariaceae with six species.

Pteridophyta plants as plant communities in biodiversity have important ecological functions in rivers and human life. One of the habitats for ferns in the upper reaches of the river in Bengkulu is the Pasmah River. The Pasmah River is a source of water for the people of Bengkulu and its surroundings. To maximize the role of the river, it is necessary to make an inventory of plants around the river, one of which is ferns. This study aims to determine the diversity of types and variations of pteridophyta sorus. A sampling of ferns was carried out on the banks of the Pasmah River, Central Bengkulu. Purposive sampling was used in this study to pinpoint the location, and the cruising (cruise method) was used to collect sample data. The results showed that there were 15 types of ferns where 12 types of ferns were found with sorus, 6 types of ferns were round, 4 were elongated, 1 was in line, 1 was strobili and 3 species had no sorus.

Dalam provinsi Aceh mempunyai beberapa kabupaten salah satunya yaitu kabupaten Gayo Lues, di kabupaten Gayo Lues terdiri dari beberapa kecamatan yang menjadi tempat penelitian yaitu di kecamatan Putri Betung, desa Uning Pune. Desa Uning Pune merupakan dataran tinggi, daerah tropis yang curah hujannya cukup tinggi/tahunnya, suhu di daerah tersebut kadag-kadang mencapai 18Cº-23Cº. dan banyak di temukan sumber mata air sehingga menyebabkan tekstur tanahnya menjadi lembab memudahkan tumbuhan untuk hidup. Dalam taksonomi tumbuhan paku di kelompokkan menjadi 4 kelas, yaitu kelas Psilophtinae (paku purba) kelas Lycopodiinae (paku rambat atau paku kawat) kelas Equesetinae (paku ekor kuda) kelas Filicinae (paku sejati). Selain tumbuh di tanah tumbuhan paku juga tumbuh pada berbagai jenis pohon atau menempel.Telah di lakukan penelitian tentang Identifikasi Jenis-jenis tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) yang tumbuh di daerah desa Uning Pune Kecamatan Putri Betung Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Penelitian di lakukan pada tanggal 24 s/d 26 juli 2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahiui jenis-jenis tumbuhan paku apa saja yg tumbuh di daerah tersebut dan manfaat tumbuhan paku, hasil penelitian di keringkan, bisa di jadikan sebagai media pembelajaran. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey lapangan. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan deskriptif, hasil yang di dapat akan di catat dan ambil dokumentasi. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian yang telah di laksanakan mengenai Identidikasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) yang tumbuh di desa Uning Pune Kecamatan Putri Betung Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Adapun jenis tumbuhan paku yang di temukan saat penelitian yaitu 28 jenis tumbuhan paku terdiri dari 11 famili, diantaranya yaitu famili Polypodiaceae memiliki jumlah jenis terbanyak yaitu 12 jenis, kemudian dari famili Nephrolepidaceae jumlahnya 3 jenis, famili Pteridaceae 3 jenis, famili Defalliaceae 3 jenis, famili Aspleniaceae 1 jenis, famili Equisetaceae 1 jenis famili Marsileaceae 1 jenis, famili Onocleaceae 1 jenis, famili Isoetaceae 1 jenis famili Selainellaceae 1 jenis, dan famili Lycopodiaceae 1 jenis.
