“…The genus Psychroserpens, belonging to the family Flavobacteriaceae in the phylum Bacteroidota, was first proposed by Bowman et al [1] with the description of Psychroserpens burtonensis as the type species isolated from Burton Lake, Antarctica. At the time of writing, the genus Psychroserpens includes eight species with validly published names (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/ psychroserpens), including P. burtonensis [1], P. mesophilus [2], P. damuponensis [3], P. jangbogonensis [4], P. luteolus [5], P. algicola [5], P. luteus [5] and P. magnus [5], and all species members have been isolated from various marine environments [1][2][3][4][5]. Species of the genus Psychroserpens are featured by Gram-stain-negative, yellow-to yellowish-orange-pigmented, obligately aerobic with rod-shaped cells, containing branched chain unsaturated fatty acids, iso-C 15 : 0 , iso-C 15 : 1 G and anteiso-C 15 : 0 as the major cellular fatty acids, and menaquinone-6 (MK-6) as the major respiratory quinone [1][2][3][4].…”

“…The representatives of three new species of the family Flavobacteriaceae, Muricauda (formerly Flagellimonas) algicola, Psychroserpens luteolus, and Tenacibaculum aquimarinum, were described as epiphytic bacteria of the red algae Asparagopsis taxiformis, Gelidium sp., and Chondrus sp. collected from Korean and Chinese coastal waters [10][11][12]. The new species Thalassotalea algicola (family Colwelliaceae, class Gammaproteobacteria) was isolated from a red alga Porphyra sp.…”
