“…The literature reviewed above emphasizes the distinctiveness of two knowledge frameworks relevant to marginalized mothers and how ongoing disciplinary singularity (Fang et al, 2023) limits our attempts to support marginalized mothers as psychoanalytic interventions struggle to hold onto the sociocultural perspectives of caregivers while social perspectives do not consider the intrapsychic and relational qualities of caregiving. In this study we employ a psychosocial framework (Saville Young, 2022) to advance knowledge of how low-income mothers construct their maternal subjectivity in their local contexts to contribute to clinically relevant and meaningful ways of supporting these mothers.…”
