Psychomotor profile assessment: a question of pedagogical need

Abstract

The psychomotor assessment, through specific instruments, allows evaluating and understanding the progress of this interaction. This research aimed to assess the importance and need for a pedagogical tool for psychomotor assessment in children and adolescents. The methodology used was an exploratory descriptive field research, longitudinal in nature, there was a semi-structured interview and also a structured questionnaire applied online through the Google Forms platform. Participants were Physical Education students at the State University of Pará. At the end of this study, it was found that Physical Education students recognize the relevance of psychomotor assessment instruments in the educational context, although they demonstrate limited knowledge about the various tools. available. This perception suggests an opportunity to improve the training of future professionals, emphasizing the importance of mastery and diversification of psychomotor assessment tools, aiming at a more effective and comprehensive performance in promoting the integral development of children and adolescents.
