Psychometric Properties on Lecturers’ Beliefs on Teaching Function: Rasch Model Analysis

Abstract: This paper focuses on the psychometric analysis of lecturers' beliefs on teaching function (LBTF) survey using Rasch Model analysis. The sample comprised 34 Community Colleges' lecturers. The Rasch Model is applied to produce specific measurements on the lecturers' beliefs on teaching function in order to generalize results and inferential studies. The items proved to measure a single dimension of lecturers' beliefs and how it influences the teaching function. The developed instrument termed LBTF covers six su… Show more

“…The raw variance explained by measure is 66.4% greater than 60%. Based on these findings, the overall validity of the MoIP-ST instrument can be classified as excellent (Mofreh et al, 2014;Ng et al, 2018;Sumintono & Widhiarsho, 2015;Sumintono & Widhiarso, 2015;Talib et al, 2019). Meanwhile, all unexplained variance eigen values in the first have a value of less than 3, and the observed have a value of less than 15% (Mofreh et al, 2014;Ng et al, 2018;Sumintono & Widhiarso, 2015;Talib et al, 2019).…”

“…The use of the Rasch model analysis is a robust method for assessing the soundness and dependability of the instrument in measuring the construct [41]. The model analysis is a comprehensive and rigorous process, as it verifies the soundness and consistency of the instrument and provides a comprehensive evaluation of the survey participants.…”
