“…The results are classified into three groups, according to the authors’ recommendations: low, good, and excellent skills in factors 2 and 3, and low, good, and excessive skills in factor 1. Prior studies have analyzed the scale’s internal consistency and validity ( Górriz et al, 2021 ; Ruiz-Mamani et al, 2022 ). Its reliability for the sample was high (α = 0.94) as well as that of the factors (α 1 = 0.90, α 2 = 0.92, α 3 = 0.90).…”

“…This ability to control and use emotions to guide thought and behavior is what Salovey and Mayer (1990) defined as Emotional Intelligence (EI), distinguishing between the processing of affective information at intrapersonal and interpersonal levels. EI has been shown to enhance people’s ability to cope with stressors and conflict situations of high emotional intensity ( Ruiz-Mamani et al, 2022 ) and is related to important social functioning variables such as attachment style and family cohesion ( Cócola, 2022 ). Moreover, recent reviews have highlighted the role of EI in several health and social scenarios; improving the quality of life of breast cancer survivors ( Durosini et al, 2022 ), enhancing EI in patients with panic disorder to improve their flexibility in emotion regulation ( Oussi et al, 2023 ), or in individuals with social anxiety disorder ( Rozen and Aderka, 2023 ).…”

“…Emotional Intelligence: The Emotional Intelligence Scale, originally named "Trait Meta Mood Scale," was used. The TMMS-24 version by Salovey and Mayer, adapted into Spanish by Mamani et al (2022), consists of 24 items in 3 dimensions on a 5-point scale, from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree), to indicate their level of agreement with each item. It obtained a reliability coefficient through Cronbach's Alpha of 0,89, 0,88, and 0,87 in the dimensions of emotional perception, understanding, and regulation, respectively.…”

“…Depending on the role, whether it be a manager or employee, different levels of emotional engagement are required (Jorfi et al, 2011;Soriano-Vázquez et al, 2023). EI encompasses an individual's emotional and social skills to successfully handle problems or pressures in their environment (Mamani et al, 2022;Shahab et al, 2018). In clinical settings, emotion management is beneficial for both healthcare professionals and patients.…”
