“…By means of confi rmatory factor analysis, several models for the RCADS were tested (i.e., 6-correlated-factors model, 6-uncorrelated-factors model, 1-factor model, and 2-correlated-factors model -anxiety/depression). The six-correlated-factors model provided a better fi t to the data than the remaining tested models, providing additional support to the structure of the original version of the RCADS and corroborating confi rmatory factor-analytic data previously reported by Chorpita et al (2005). There is a U.S. Spanish language version of the caregiver scale that has been developed by Chorpita's group at the University of California, Los Angeles (Polo, Rodriguez, & Polo, 2010).…”

“…The CDI has been shown to have good reliability and validity as a measure of general depression in children and adolescents (Klein et al 2005). Although the CDI is probably the most commonly used measure of assessing depressive symptoms among youth, its construct validity and specificity as a measure of depression has been questioned (e.g., Chorpita et al 2005;King et al 1991) given that it appears to contain many items tapping broad negative affect (Chorpita et al 1998). Thus, although the CDI was intended to assess the depressive symptoms factor of the hierarchical model of internalizing problems Watson 2005) given its wide-spread use, the questionable specificity and construct validity led to the decision to select particular anhedonia items from the CDI, based on past work (e.g., Chorpita et al 1998;Joiner et al 1996) in order to examine both the full CDI as the commonly used measure of general depressive symptoms and the relatively more specific anhedonic depressive symptoms based on the CDI.…”

“…Revised Child Anxiety and Depression Scale -Child version (RCADS). The RCADS is a reliable and construct valid 47-item child report questionnaire that measures symptoms of DSM-IV anxiety disorders and depression (Chorpita, Yim, Moffitt, Umemoto, & Francis, 2000;Chorpita, Moffitt, & Gray, 2005). The RCADS consists of six subscales: separation anxiety disorder (SAD), social phobia (SP), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder (PD) and major depressive disorder (MDD).…”
