Psychometric properties of the excoriation (skin‐picking disorder) dimensional scale

Abstract: Objective The Excoriation (skin‐picking disorder) dimensional scale (SPD‐D) is a new measure of excoriation skin picking disorder (SPD). The 5‐item scale was developed by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (Fifth Edition) obsessive–compulsive spectrum disorders sub‐workgroup to assist in the dimensional assessment of SPD. Method The aim of the present study was to provide a psychometric evaluation of this new scale in a large community sample. 803 participants were recruited from online community noticeboar… Show more

“…Finally, good convergence was found between the scores of the SPIS and the SPS-R, which indicates a direct and strong relationship between both scales and a good validity of the Spanish version of the SPIS. These results are consistent with the existing literature (15,24).…”

“…We expanded the OCRD-D developed by LeBeau et al (24). Several studies have shown that the original measure and its domains/modules have good psychometric properties (24,(27)(28)(29). Further, OCRD-D has been validated in Spanish adolescents and exhibited good psychometric properties (30).…”

“…The present study aims to measure the psychometric properties of the GAD-D in a community sample of Australian adults. Establishing these psychometric properties using an Australian sample would give clinicians working in Australia an empirical basis for using this scale to screen for, measure, and monitor GAD symptomology and severity in the populations they work with and will also add to the growing literature demonstrating the psychometric properties of the DSM-5 dimensional scales in the Australian population [ 17 20 ]. The following were investigated: 1) factor structure; 2) reliability; and 3) convergent and discriminant validity.…”
