STRESZCZENIEIstnieją dwa systemy samoregulacji: promocyjny i prewencyjny. Wpływają one na podejmowanie decyzji i realizację celów. Podobnie w przypadku strategii wyróżniamy behawioralny system hamujący oraz behawioralny system aktywacyjny -mają one działanie regulujące. Celem pracy badawczej była odpowiedź na pytanie, czy temperament i płeć różnicują strategie i systemy samoregulacji. Przebadano 105 osób (54 kobiety i 51 mężczyzn). Do badań wykorzystano takie metody, jak: Skala Samoregulacji Promocyjnej i Prewencyjnej (SSPP), Kwestionariusz Temperamentu PTS oraz Skala BIS-BAS.Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na to, że kobiety istotnie statystycznie częściej przejawiają Behawioralny System Hamowania (BIS) niż mężczyźni. Nie ma natomiast różnic międzypłciowych dotyczących strategii promocyjnej i prewencyjnej. W odniesieniu do temperamentu osoby z niskim pobudzeniem przejawiają silniejszy BIS niż osoby z wysokim pobudzeniem. Badani z wysokim pobudzeniem wykazują silniejszą strategię promocyjną niż osoby z niskim pobudzeniem. Osoby z niskim hamowaniem przejawiają silniejszy Behawioralny System Aktywacji (BAS) niż osoby z wysokim hamowaniem. Ponadto u kobiet temperament nie wyjaśnia zmienności BAS-u i prewencji, zaś u mężczyzn istnieje taka zależność. Podobne wyniki u obu płci są widoczne w odniesieniu do zmienności BIS-u i strategii promocyjnej -dostrzegalny jest wpływ pobudzenia. Istnieją zatem wyraźne zależności pomiędzy temperamentem a systemami aktywacji.
