Despite the fact that some studies have not confirmed the association between psychological disturbances and OLP (Allen, Beck, Rossie, & Kaul, ; Field & Humphris, ; Macleod, ), nonetheless, numerous authors have reported a significant prevalence of disorders such as anxiety, depression, instability and negativity among patients with OLP (Cerqueira et al, ).
