The aim of the research is to identify the pedagogical conditions for supporting the adaptation of international students in a Russian university, taking into account modern trends in the education system and current adaptation barriers. The paper focuses on the digital transformation of education, affecting all components of the university educational system, concluding that the pedagogical conditions for supporting the adaptation of international students in a Russian university should be oriented towards the potential of the digital environment. In solving adaptation problems, the focus shifts from traditional barriers to a complex of problems that hinder successful adaptation. The scientific novelty lies in substantiating the organizational-pedagogical, psychological-pedagogical and didactic conditions for the adaptation of international students in a Russian university in the context of the modern requirements of the information society. As a result, the pedagogical conditions for supporting the adaptation of international students in a Russian university have been identified, taking into account the requirements of digitalization and the current adaptation barriers of students. The pedagogical conditions are as follows: the organizational-pedagogical conditions consist in organizing and conducting adaptation classes focused on applying the potential of the digital environment; the psychological-pedagogical conditions mean involving international students in adaptation activities by informing them about adaptation barriers and developing personal qualities that contribute to overcoming such barriers; the didactic conditions include creating a system of tasks in the digital environment for conducting adaptation classes that help overcome adaptation barriers.
