Psychoanalysis, time and the crisis of truth.

Abstract

This article addresses the crisis of legitimacy in psychoanalysis and the thinking disciplines of the humanities, as part of a systemic annihilation of thought and judgment characteristic of the postmodern way of life that does not allow time for reflection. I suggest a new paradigm for rethinking the marginalized status of psychoanalysis through a rereading of the myth of Oedipus, in which I identify Oedipus's self-blinding and Laius's murderous intent in the dynamics operating in the structures of knowledge that, in our time, are largely driven by capital.
