Abstract:Psychiatric comorbidities are underestimated in epilepsy. Here the authors assess the prevalence of psychiatric comorbidities in a cohort of patients with epilepsy in an outpatient neurology unit in Habib Bourguiba Hospital, Tunisia, and identify the sociodemographic and clinical factors associated with the presence of these psychiatric disorders in this patient sample. The results highlight that particular attention should be paid to such patients as part of a global biopsychosocial approach.
