Psychiatric aspects of cardiac disorders

Abstract: A number of the aetiological factors associated with coronary heart disease (CHD) have psychogenic components, ie alcohol consumption, smoking, obesity, sex, sleep and heredity. Placebo‐controlled trials of anxiolytics in CHD and hypertension have yielded conflicting results.
