Abstract:Erbium(III) complexes are the most interesting candidates for high-performance single molecule magnets (SMMs) just after dysprosium(III). Herein, we thoroughly explore the underrepresented class of neutral pseudo-tetrahedral erbium(III) SMMs and demonstrate their exceptional slow magnetization dynamics controlled by the Raman relaxation mechanism and the molecular magnetic memory effect in the form of a waist-restricted magnetic hysteresis loop. The influence of the coordinated TEMPO radical on the slow magnet… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
