Proton-deuteron radiative capture cross-sections at intermediate energies

Abstract: Abstract. Differential cross-sections of the reaction p(d,3 He)γ have been measured at deuteron laboratory energies of 110, 133 and 180 MeV. The data were obtained with a coincidence setup measuring both the outgoing 3 He and the photon. The data are compared with modern calculations including all possible meson-exchange currents and two-and three-nucleon forces in the potential. The data clearly show a preference for one of the models, although the shape of the angular distribution cannot be reproduced by any… Show more

“…A systematic investigation of 3NFs through the breakup reaction has been initiated at KVI in a common effort between the Dutch and the Polish groups since the end of the 90s by developing various experimental setups and exploiting high-quality polarized beams [21,[24][25][26][27][28]. BINA 1 is the latest experimental setup which was exploited at KVI for few-nucleon scattering experiments.…”

“…The energies, the momenta of the photons and 3 He ions are determined by the PB detector as well as a Big Bite Spectrometer (BBS), respectively. Figure 1 shows an overview of the apparatus used in the experiments [13].…”
