Proton‐Conductive Supramolecular Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Superstructures for High‐Performance Zinc‐Organic Batteries

Abstract: With fast (de)coordination kinetics, the smallest and the lightest proton stands out as the most ideal charge carrier for aqueous Zn-organic batteries (ZOBs). Hydrogen-bonding networks with rapid Grotthuss proton conduction is particularly suitable for organic cathodes, yet not reported. We report the supramolecular self-assembly of cyanuric acid and 1,3,5triazine-2,4,6-triamine into organic superstructures through in-plane H-bonds and out-of-plane π-π interaction. The supramolecular superstructures exhibit hi… Show more

“…Reduced density gradient (RDG) simulations were carried out by using the Multiwfn program, where the RDG value provides the interaction strength, while the sign( l 2 ) r value shows the interaction types 42 . Large and negative values of sign( l 2 ) r are suggestive of H-bond interactions, and values near zero indicate π-π stacking interactions 43 . The colored gradient isosurface map intuitively exhibits the interaction area and corresponding strength.…”

“…In addition, the formation of H-bonding can also prevent the sublimation of small molecule quinones, such as tetraamino-p-benzoquinone (TABQ), as demonstrated in Figure 9B. 47 Recently, Song et al 56 9C). The self-assembly of the planar structure generates well-defined 3D superstructures via out-of-plane π-π stacking.…”
