Proteomic analysis of Arabidopsis halleri shoots in response to the heavy metals cadmium and zinc and rhizosphere microorganisms

Abstract: Arabidopsis halleri has the rare ability to colonize heavy metal-polluted sites and is an emerging model for research on adaptation and metal hyperaccumulation. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of plant-microbe interaction on the accumulation of cadmium (Cd) and zinc (Zn) in shoots of an ecotype of A. halleri grown in heavy metal-contaminated soil and to compare the shoot proteome of plants grown solely in the presence of Cd and Zn or in the presence of these two metals and the autochthonous soi… Show more

“…Ağır metal stresi altındaki bitkilerde farklı şekilde eksprese olan proteinlerin büyük çoğunluğunu fotosentez ile ilişkili proteinler oluşturmaktadır (Farinati et al 2009;Ahsan et al 2010;Zhao et al 2011). RuBisCO (ribuloz 1,5-bifosfat karboksilaz/oksijenaz) çözünebilir yaprak proteininin %30-70'ini oluşturmakta (Douillard and Mathan 1994) ve fotosentezde önemli rol oynamaktadır.…”

“…RuBisCObağlayıcı altbirim, RuBisCO büyük altbiriminin katlanması için gerekli bir proteindir (Boston et al 1996). RuBisCO aktivaz, RuBisCO'nun katalitik aktivitesini sağlamaktadır (Portis 2003 Patterson et al 2007;Zhen et al 2007;Führs et al 2008;Farinati et al 2009;Zhang et al 2009;Walliwalagedara et al 2010;Cai et al 2011 Metal stresine cevap olarak RuBisCO proteininin miktarındaki azalma birçok bitki türünde rapor edilmiştir (Hajduch et al 2001;Führs et al 2008;Kieffer et al 2009;Ahsan et al 2010;Zhao et al 2011). Bununla birlikte, RuBisCO alt birimlerindeki azalma Cd stresine maruz kalan hiperakümülatör Thlaspi caerulescens bitkilerinde de belirlenmiştir (Tuomainen et al 2006).…”
