Protein Dynamics — Concepts and Experimental Tools

Abstract: Most textbooks and publications show proteins in a unique structure and naked, without hydration shell and bulk environment. In reality, proteins can assume a very large number of different conformations. They fluctuate continuously and are controlled by the hydration shell and the solvent. Without these fluctuations, proteins could not work. This chapter gives a brief overview of protein dynamics and cites references where more information can be found.
