Protein-based nanobiosensor for direct detection of hydrogen sulfide

Abstract: The chemically modified cytochrome c from equine heart, EC (232-700-9), was immobilized onto gold nanoparticles in order to develop a specific biosensing system for monitoring hydrogen sulfide down to the micromolar level, by means of a localized surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy. The sensing mechanism is based on the cytochrome-c conformational changes in the presence of H2S which alter the dielectric properties of the gold nanoparticles and the surface plasmon resonance peak undergoes a redshift. Accord… Show more

“…LOD is defined as the lowest possible concentration of an analyte that can be distinguished without any assurance about the imprecision of the obtained results. Herein, the LOD was calculated by the following equation : LOD =3σ/bwhere b is the sensitivity of the sensor (slope of the regression line) and σ is the SD of the blank. Mean value and SD of Δip were calculated, since each concentration measurement was repeated three times (Figure C and D).…”

“…The k L can be described as follow : knormalL=k off +k on false[ DOX false]where k off is the rate of dissociation of the DOX from the GO–DOX complex and k on is the second‐order rate constant for the association of DOX and GO; the extracted values of Fig. are presented in Table 4.…”

“…The PLGA MPs size was determined using an image analysis method as described previously. 13 Five different microscopy images were prepared for each sample, and the average diameters and size distributions were determined by ImageJ soware (ImageJ freeware, NIH, USA). The hydrodynamic diameter size distribution of CQDs sample was measured by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS, Malvern ZEN 3600 zetasizer) analysis.…”
