Protective Strategy to Boost the Stability of Aminated Graphene in Fenton-like Reactions

Abstract: Improving the stability of aminated metal-free catalysts is a big challenge in Fenton-like reactions. Herein, trinuclear iron cluster (Fe3 cluster)-protected aminated graphene (Fe3-NH2-GR) is designed by a protective strategy. By protecting with the Fe3 cluster, the lone pair electrons of amino groups are protected and the N content of Fe3-NH2-GR can be fixed steadily. In peroxymonosulfate (PMS)-based Fenton-like reactions with a fixed-bed reactor, the lifetime of Fe3-NH2-GR is two times longer than that of am… Show more

“…Nanoscience is a fascinating branch of science concerned with the use and development of structures and materials with nanometer-scale dimensions. Nanotechnology advancements have benefited scientists in their search for a novel approach to manufacturing nanomaterials for antimicrobials (Naikoo et al 2021 ), agricultural production (Ndlovu et al 2020 ), engineering (Dhanapal 2012 ), and catalysis (Wu et al 2020 ; Li et al 2021 ; Xu et al 2021 ). Nanoparticles (NPs) are small particles with a diameter of 1–100 nm that can be made in a variety of ways.…”

“…persulfate) in a degradation system and the reaction rate constants are usually close to tens per hour. 28,29 Inspired by the photosynthetic systems of plants, a Z-scheme heterostructure is developed and then the transfer pathway is expanded to S-scheme heterostructure. 30 Compared with the Zscheme heterostructure achieved by introducing a third component, an S-scheme heterostructure consisting of two ntype semiconductors with direct contact is very appealing due to the existence of an internal electric eld.…”
