Protecting jobs, enhancing flexibility: A new look at employment protection legislation

Abstract: This chapter describes the employment protection legislation (EPL) currently in force in OECD countries and selected emerging economies (including all G20 countries). It also presents the latest quantitative estimates of the degree of stringency of EPL, which can be compared across countries.
