Abstract: Research has shown that prostate specific antigen (PSA) is a tumour marker for diagnosis of cancer prostate with significant prognostic value. Screening studies in North America and Europe have revealed that carcinoma prostate is common. Early detection and treatment improves the quality of life besides preventing deaths due to metastatic prostate cancer.
