Prospects for the Sustainable Development of Modern Architecture in the Coastal Cities of Algeria

Abstract

Sustainable development is one of the main topics of world research, including in the aspect of further transformation of modern architecture. From this point of view, the study of the rich architectural heritage of Algeria - one of the countries that for millennia has developed and accumulated experience of “passive” resistance to the hot and dry climate of the region with architectural and urban planning means and techniques - is relevant in terms of global trends in climate change. The article discusses and analyses the traditional methods of urban planning and architecture, as well as provides recommendations for their further development. Particular attention is paid to the organization of residential development in the coastal cities of Algeria, the revival and transformation of energy-efficient architectural techniques, landscaping and the use of water resources for the integrated provision of sustainable development of the region.

Architecture of Air Transport Medicine Facilities

“…In many countries of the world, in metropolitan cities, there are already complexes of facilities for servicing air transport passengers, which are located on the roofs of buildings, but in Ukraine, the construction of landing sites for helicopters is just beginning [59,60]. In Ukraine, there is no regulatory framework for this type of structure, the current Ukrainian regulatory documents contain only requirements for the roofs of high-rise buildings, as sites for landing rescue capsules or helicopters, but there are no scientifically based recommendations on the location of the complex of facilities for servicing passengers (cargo) of air transport in the structure of residential buildings and public buildings, there are no recommendations, height restrictions, environmental requirements, aerodynamic criteria.…”
