BACKGROUND: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is common among older adults and associated with impaired knee strength. OBJECTIVE: Describe isokinetic testing procedures and clinimetric findings associated with the testing of knee strength in the presence of knee OA. METHODS: Relevant articles were identified by an electronic search of PubMed using the search string "isokinet * AND knee osteoarthritis." RESULTS: One-hundred and twenty-nine relevant articles were found. The articles support the validity and reliability of isokinetic strength testing for patients with knee OA. The responsiveness to various therapeutic interventions has been reported. CONCLUSIONS: Isokinetic dynamometry is a valid and reliable measure of muscle strength in knee OA.

Osteoarthritis biasanya menyerang persendian yang mempunyai titik tumpu besar salah satunya knee joint. Kondisi knee osteoarthritis ini dapat menimbulkan keluhan pada area lain salah satunya low back pain. Low back pain yang terjadi pada penderita knee osteoarthritis merupakan low back pain non spesifik tipe miogenik yang terjadi karena indirect muscle function. Terjadinya keluhan low back pain miogenik ini dapat disebabkan oleh knee spine syndrome yaitu kondisi yang menyebabkan berkurangnya sudut lordosis lumbal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kejadian knee osteoarthritis dengan keluhan low back pain miogenik pada masyarakat Pasar Kreneng Kota Denpasar Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan study cross sectional dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemeriksaan knee osteoarthritis yang dilakukan oleh fisioterapis dan .pemeriksaan low back pain miogenik menggunakan kuisioner Rolland Morris Low Back Pain and Disability serta palpasi. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 52 orang yaitu 42 orang perempuan dan 10 orang laki-laki. Hasil rerata usia dan IMT pada penelitian yakni 52,5 tahun dan 28,1 kg/m2. Pada perhitungan analisis data dengan uji chi-square diperoleh nilai p sebesar 0,781 dimana p>0,05 yang berarti tidak ada hubungan antara knee osteoarthritis dengan kejadian low back pain miogenik pada masyarakat Pasar Kreneng Kota Denpasar. Nilai p yang tidak signifikan ini dipengaruhi oleh faktor alat ukur, sampel yang tidak represntatif, motivasi, persepsi nyeri dan aktifitas fisik sampel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara kejadian knee osteoarthritis dengan keluhan low back pain miogenik pada masyarakat Pasar Kreneng Kota Denpasar.

Primer diz osteoartritli (OA) hastalarda radyolojik evrelemenin ağrı, fonksiyon, izokinetik değerlendirme ve postural stabiliteye olan etkilerinin değerlendirilmesidir. G Ge er re eç ç v ve e Y Yö ön nt te em ml le er r: : Amerikan Romatoloji Derneği kriterlerine göre primer diz OA tanısı alan 110 kadın hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastaların ön-arka ve yan diz grafileri değerlendirildi. Bu grafiler üzerinden Kellgren-Lawrence (K/L) diz OA evrelemesi yapıldı. Çalışmaya K/L diz OA evrelemesine göre evre 2 ve evre 3 olan hastalar dâhil edildi. Hastalar K/L diz OA evrelemesine göre K/L evre 2 (Grup 1) ve K/L evre 3 (Grup 2) olmak üzere iki gruba ayrıldı. Kesin osteofit ve eklem aralığında şüpheli daralma K/L evre 2 olarak kabul edildi. K/L evre 3 ise orta derecede çok sayıda osteofit, eklem aralığında kesin daralma, skleroz olarak belirlendi. Çalışmanın sonuç parametreleri vizüel analog skala (VAS), WOMAC OA ve Lequesne indeksleri, Tetrax postüral stabilite testi, izokinetik kas parametreleri olarak belirlendi. Hastaların ağrı, tutukluk ve günlük yaşam aktiviteleri değerlendirmeleri VAS, WOMAC ve Lequesne indeksleri ile karşılaştırıldı. Denge ve postüral stabilite karşılaştırmaları Tetrax İnteraktif Denge Sistemi ile gerçekleştirildi. Kas kuvveti karşılaştırmaları için Biodex System 3 Pro izokinetik dinamometre cihazı kullanıldı. B Bu ul lg gu ul la ar r: : Çalışmaya alınan hastaların yaş ortalaması Grup 1'de 57,12 ±8,34 yıl ve Grup 2'de 62,38±8,23 yıl bulundu. Gruplar arasında yaş, beden kitle indeksi, hastalık süresi değerleri benzer idi. Gruplar arasında VAS, Lequesne indeksi, WOMAC tutukluk alt grupları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmadı. WOMAC'ın toplam skoru ile ağrı ve günlük yaşam aktivitesi altskorları ise K/L evre 3 hastalarda daha yüksek saptandı. İzokinetik değerlendirmeler içinde yer alan 60°/sn ve 180°/sn hızlarındaki kuadriseps pik tork değerleri, hamstring/kuadriseps agonist/antagonist oranlarında fark belirlenmedi. Gruplar arasında düşme riski ve postüral stabilite değerleri açısından fark saptanmadı.
