Propofol increases morbidity and mortality in a rat model of sepsis

Abstract: IntroductionSevere sepsis is associated with approximately 50% mortality and accounts for tremendous healthcare costs. Most patients require ventilatory support and propofol is commonly used to sedate mechanically ventilated patients.
