Properties of talc/wollastonite/polyamide 6 hybrid composites

Abstract: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the mechanical, thermal, and morphological properties of PA6 hybrid composites containing talc and wollastonite. Talc and wollastonite filled single and hybrid composites were prepared with melt compounding in a twin screw extruder. The filler content was 40% by weight and the wollastonite/talc ratio was 40/0, 30/10, 20/20, 10/30, and 40/0. The melt flow rate measurements showed that incorporation of fillers into the polyamide 6 (PA6) resulted in an increment in melt … Show more

“…The reduction of the crystallinity content in PA6/talc composites was also reported. 33 They supposed that the mobility of the PA6 chains might be restricted during cooling. This phenomenon is also likely occurring in the case of our HAR and CaCO 3 composites.…”

“…Guglani and Gupta studied the heat resistance temperature of a PA66/TiO 2 composite and found that the HDT of PA66 was increased by 5°C by the addition of 6% TiO 2 . Kodal et al . studied the HDT of a PA6/talc/wollastonite composite and found that the HDT of PA6 was increased by 24°C by the addition of 20 wt % talc/20 wt % wollastonite, which was in relation to composite mass.…”
