Suspension cultures of mouse L‐cells were infected with chlamydial strains associated with bovine and ovine abortion, as well as with strains associated with other clinical conditions. Freshly harvested yolk sacs of infected chicken embryos were used as the primary source of infection. Infectivity of cell propagated chlamydiae was assayed as inclusions‐forming‐units per ml.
