Abstract:Propagation of extremely short electromagnetic pulses in a homogeneous doublyresonant medium is considered in the framework of the total Maxwell-Duffing-Lorentz model, where the Duffing oscillators (anharmonic oscillators with cubic nonlinearities) represent the dielectric response of the medium, and the Lorentz harmonic oscillators represent the magnetic response. The wave propagation is governed by the one-dimensional Maxwell equations. It is shown that the model possesses a one-parameter family of traveling-… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
